Dagpenger (Unemployment Benefit)

  • As of the new year, the 3-day grace period has been abolished. Instead, egenandel (own contribution) was introduced, which is deducted when the benefit is paid. Egenandel in practice corresponds to the previous 3 days of waiting for benefits.
  • The benefit basis can be recalculated on request, provided that the claimant has worked for at least 12 weeks before resubmitting the claim and if this is to the benefit of the beneficiary.
  • Those caring for children under 18 will receive a dagpenger allowance of NOK 36 for 5 days a week, an increase from the previous NOK 35.
