Skattekort – tax card
The service involves changing your tax card according to your instructions. Above all, we base this on your projected earnings from salaried work and self-employment.
Skattekort – when should it be changed?
In general, there is no obligation to change the card assigned by the tax office. However, you should bear in mind that we will be paying advance tax that is not aligned with our earnings if the card is incorrect. This means two possible scenarios:
- The card is underestimated – advance tax payments are lower than the tax resulting from annual earnings – then we will have to pay the difference when filing the annual return, but you will receive more net pay from your employer
- The card is overestimated – advance tax payments are higher than the tax resulting from annual earnings – then you will receive a refund when filing the annual return, but you will receive less net pay from your employer
A general important rule:
Regardless of the amount of the advance payments or the chosen tax card – we all pay identical taxes. If you earn the same as another person – you will ultimately pay the same taxes in the annual return, regardless of the advance payments.
Except for exceptions, e.g. related to the 25% kildeskatt card, which may affect your final taxes.
