PD U1 form – for confirming insurance periods in another country
Applies only to people who have acquired entitlement to unemployment benefit in Norway and have moved to another EEA country.
PD U1 is valid for confirming periods of work abroad. Thanks to this document, entitlement to benefit and its amount are determined.
PD U1 is a document confirming periods of insurance and work in a given country.
It is particularly useful when registering and applying for unemployment benefit in Poland. It is very important when submitting an application for a pension in Poland.
1. Required documentation
To provide the service, we will need from you:
- confirmation of employment – Bekreftelse på ansettelsesforhold (NAV 04-02.03) – to be completed by the employer. If you are applying with several employers, you must have one form from each employer.
- Lønns- og trekkoppgave for each year worked in Norway,
- the first and last payslip received in Norway,
- a copy of all employment contracts,
- a copy of termination notices,
- if you did not work full-time, you must attach copies of timesheets showing the hours worked, including specific days,
- if the company is insolvent, all documents you have relating to the insolvency must be attached.
2. Procedure
The application will be considered no earlier than 7 days before departure. The form NAV 04-02.03 completed by the employer must be sent in. To retain unemployment benefit while looking for work in another EEA country, before leaving Norway you must send NAV an application for the issue of a PD U2 certificate.
3. Waiting time
For PD U1 – up to 25 weeks. For PD U2 – approx. 4 weeks.
4. What does the service include?
The service includes:
- sending the application to NAV together with the documents – employment contract, payslips, termination notice, form NAV 04-02.03,
- attaching the necessary documentation (up to 2 times), further sending of documents/messages regarding the case is chargeable.
- ongoing contact and assistance in case of problems.
NOTE: The final decision on whether the certificate is granted rests with the authority. The service only covers mediation between you and the authority.
