Cases we have resolved

Below you can read sample questions and answers:

Q: Hello, could you answer a question for me: in Norway, is 50 percent tax deducted from a second job? I should add that the second job is also 100%.
A: No, the second employer should in such a situation deduct tax on account according to the percentage that you will also find on your tax card (skatteekort).

Q: I have an unusual question: can a person from Poland who is not registered in Norway (as a tourist) buy an apartment in Norway with cash?
A: There is no problem with that; when buying, such a person obtains a personal number for contact with the authorities in this situation 🙂

Q: I have a huge request: do you know which holiday law in Norway says that the employer decides my holiday in 2022 without the right of appeal, even though I am requesting different days?
A: Ferieloven §6 (1) states that holiday should be arranged and negotiated jointly with the employer, while the employer has the final decision on the timing.

Q: I returned to Norway after the Christmas break and am starting work in a different place from where I worked before. I have a D-number. Do I now need to report anything to the tax office after returning?
A: If you ended your cooperation with the previous employer, they should report it and the new employer should also register you. If you have not changed your place of residence, etc., then you do not need to report anything either.
