Where to go on holiday from Norway? Green countries from 5 July 2021

⚠️ GREEN COUNTRIES FROM 5.07 AND CHANGES TO THE RULES ⚠️

A few days ago I shared the forecast for green countries; now they have been officially announced. Norway has added a whole load of colours to the map, but most of them do not concern us. The most important thing is this: green = no quarantine, all other colours = quarantine. If you want to read about all the colours and changes, I invite you to the source material.

⚠️ WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT A COUNTRY IS GREEN?
It means that you can travel from it to Norway without quarantine. Residents of that country can come to Norway as tourists or for any other purpose without entry restrictions. Above all, it means that you can go there freely on holiday.

⚠️ WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR GREEN COUNTRIES?
For a country to be green, over a 14-day period (for 5.07 the data will be taken from 14.06-27.06) it must have a rate below 50 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants and below 4% positive tests, or below 75 new cases per 100,000 and below 1% positive tests over that period.

⚠️ GREEN COUNTRIES
List of all green countries from 5.07:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Germany, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Vatican, Hungary, Italy, Faroe Islands.

All other countries are red or orange – which means quarantine applies when travelling from them (except for the exceptions concerning regions and islands described below).

⚠️ GREEN REGIONS
Sweden, Finland and Denmark are divided into regions.
Green regions in Sweden:
Dalarna, Gotland, Gävleborg, Halland, Jämtland, Skåne, Stockholm, Södermanland, Uppsala, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Västmanland, Västra Götland, Örebro og Östergötland.

Green regions in Denmark:
Sjælland, Syddanmark, Midtjylland og Nordjylland (which means the Denmark-Norway ferry will not involve quarantine when returning from Poland)

Green regions in Finland:
all except Kainuu

⚠️ GREEN ISLANDS
The following islands are green (this means that even if the country is red, you can return from the island without quarantine):
Ionian Islands (Corfu, Zakynthos), Crete, North Aegean Islands (Samos, Lesbos), Corsica, Madeira, Sardinia, Sicily

Red or orange islands (this means that even if the country is green, you are subject to quarantine when returning from the island):
Azores, Balearic Islands (Majorca), Southern Aegean Islands, Canary Islands (Tenerife)

⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Countries change to green once every two weeks (next change effective 19.07), and to red every week (next change effective 12.07)
2. Assessments are usually carried out every Friday
3. If a given country or region changes to red during your stay there – you are subject to quarantine when returning
4. Poland is still green – tourist entry is possible safely, e.g. by direct flight, with a layover in green regions, or by car using a ferry departing from a green region (including: Poland->Sweden, Denmark->Norway, Germany->Norway, Germany->Sweden – all ferries)
5. Details and rules, as usual, in the pinned post – I encourage you to read it
6. You can leave Norway for any of the countries or regions (the journey must be safe, e.g. by plane). If at the time of return it is green – you are not subject to quarantine; if red or otherwise – you are subject to quarantine.
7. If you are vaccinated or have had COVID within the last six months – there is no quarantine from any of the regions.
