PD U1 form – to confirm the insurance period in another country

It only applies to people who became entitled to unemployment benefits in Norway and moved to another EEA country.

PD U1 is valid for confirming the period of work abroad. Thanks to the document, the rights to benefits and their amount are determined.

PD U1 is a document that confirms periods of insurance and work in a given country.

Useful primarily when registering and applying for unemployment benefits in Poland. Very important when applying for a pension in Poland.

1. Required documentation

To perform the service, we will need from you:

  • confirmation of employment – ​​Bekreftelse på ansettelsesforhold (NAV 04-02.03) – to be completed by the employer. If you are applying to more than one employer, you must have one form from each employer.
  • Lønns- og trekkoppgave for each year of work in Norway,
  • first and last salary slip obtained in Norway,
  • a copy of all employment contracts
  • a copy of the notices,
  • if you did not work full-time, you must attach copies of cards with working hours worked, including specific days,
  • if the company is bankrupt, please attach all bankruptcy-related documents you have.

2. Procedure

The application will be considered no later than 7 days before departure. You must send the NAV form 04-02.03 completed by the employer. To retain unemployment benefits while looking for a job in another EEA country, you must send an application for a PD U2 certificate to NAV before leaving Norway.

3. Waiting time

In the case of PD U1 – approx. 10 weeks.
In the case of PD U2 – approx. 4 weeks.

4. What does the service include?

The service includes:

  • sending the application to NAV along with documents - employment contract, pay stubs, notice of termination, NAV form 04-02.03,
  • attaching the necessary documentation (up to 2 times), subsequent shipments of documents/messages regarding the case are subject to a fee.
